Synthesis and characterization of some transition metal complexes with a coumarin derivative

摘要
A new ligand (2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carboxylic acid hydrazide) has been prepared by reaction of coumarin-3-carboxylic acid ethyl ester and hydrazine hydrate. This ligand was used to prepare new transition metal complexes with the metal chlorides of CrIII, MnII, CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII, and HgII. Ligand and metal complexes were characterized and investigated by use of FTIR and UV–visible spectroscopy, elemental analysis, atomic absorption spectroscopy, molar conductivity, molar ratio, and magnetic susceptibility measurements.
