摘要
Motion-compensated estimation is an effective means in reducing the interframe correlation for image sequence coding. Therefore, it is adopted by the international video coding standards, ITU H.261, H.263, ISO MPEG-1 and MPEG-2. This paper provides a comprehensive survey of the motion estimation techniques that are pertinent to video coding standards.
