摘要
Narcolepsy is a syndrome, the cardinal symptom of which is excessive daytime sleepiness. Associated symptoms are hypnagogic hallucinations, sleep paralysis, and cataplexy. Diagnosis is based on a detailed sleep medicine case history, nocturnal polysomnography with multiple sleep latency test (MSLT), determination of human leukocyte antigen (HLA) genotype, and measurement of hypocretin level in cerebrospinal fluid. Therapeutic principles revolve around behavioural therapy and pharmacological treatment. Various pharmacologic agents are used to treat daytime sleepiness and cataplexy. © 2018, Springer Medizin Verlag GmbH, ein Teil von Springer Nature.
