摘要
We consider one of the important problems of information theory-the compression of data, in particular images, without loss of quality. An efficient image compression algorithm based on two-step coding. A comparison of experimental results of this algorithm and the JPEG-LS halftone image compression standard confirms the efficiency of the proposed method. © 2011 Allerton Press, Inc.
