Dried, unripe fruits of Cornus kousa Burg, were extracted with 80% aqueous MeOH and the concentrated extracts were partitioned using EtOAc, n-BuOH and H2O, successively. From the EtOAc fraction, three triterpene glycosides were isolated through repeated SiO2 and ODS column chromatography. Based on NMR, MS and IR spectroscopic data, the chemical structures of the compounds were determined to be tormentoside (1), niga-ichigoside F2 (2), and arjunglucoside (3). This is the first report of these compounds being isolated from this plant.
