摘要
Hypobaric hypoxia can have both harmful and adaptogenic influences on the structural-functional characteristics of brain neurons. Experiments on rats (n = 30) addressed morphological changes in hippocampal and neocortical neurons in different regimes of hypobaric hypoxia. Severe hypoxia (barochamber pressure 180 mmHg) was found to induce structural damage to neurons in the frontoparietal neocortex, as well as in the dorsal and ventral areas of the hippocampus, at three days. Preconditioning with moderate hypobaric hypoxia (barochamber pressure 360 mmHg) had different influences on the morphological characteristics of neurons in rats subjected to severe hypoxia. Repeated (three or six times) sessions of preconditioning prevented structural damage to neurons induced by severe hypoxia. In contrast, single sessions of preconditioning did not have this effect. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
