A new species of Ichthyothere, I. woodii (Compositae: Heliantheae: Milleriinae) is described and illustrated from the cerrados of the Department of Santa Cruz, eastern Bolivia. The distribution of Bolivian and Brazilian species is tabulated, and the large number of species in cerrado and campos rupestres vegetation commented on.
