Based on the results of the study, monolithic blocks of vitreous SiO2 were obtained by reaction vacuum-compression sintering (RVCS) of silica-bearing sol-gel products. The conditions of the synthesis, the parameters and mechanisms of the processes, and the properties of the obtained material are described.
