The influence of primary production (PP) on the dynamics of organic carbon in Lake Onego was analyzed. The daily, seasonal, and annual contribution of PP to the content of organic matter (OM) is assessed. It is shown that the contribution of the PP to the increase in the carbon content in the ecosystem is inconsiderable, while the allochthonous OM included in cycling by the bacterial link plays an important role.
