The paper deals with the species composition, life cycles, structure of the fauna, and biodiversity of black flies (Diptera, Simuliidae) in different types of streams in the central Russian forest-steppe. Complexes of black flies in different types of streams are rather similar but faunas differ in the dominance structure. © 2010 Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
