Postprostatectomy incontinence is a bothersome complication of radical prostatectomy. Although most men recover from initial postprostatectomy incontinence, some do not. It is important to understand the natural history of postprostatectomy incontinence as well as conservative measures to hasten continence. This article reviews our current understanding of postprostatectomy incontinence with an emphasis on diagnosis and management. © 2009 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
