摘要
Nonadherence to immunosuppressive therapy after solid-organ transplantation can result in graft rejection, dialysis, decreased productivity, reduced quality of life, and increased morbidity, mortality and healthcare are frequently nonadherent to immunosuppressive therapy, with nonadherence rates ranging from 2 to 68% in studies of solid organ transplant recipients. Although numerous factors have been identified as being related to nonadherence to immunosuppresive treatment, such behaviour is generally not predictable. Factors influencing a patient's adherence to immunosuppressive therapy can be divided into 4 main categories: motivation, knowledge, skills to follow therapy, and access to care. Patient motivation represents the driving force of adherence to immunosuppressive therapy. Because of the potential adverse effects of nonadherence, it is important to increase medication compliance in all transplant recipients.
