摘要
The Nagapattinam district lies on the east coast to the south of Cuddalore and is bordered by the Bay of Bengal. The general geological formation of the district is plain and coastal. Energy conservation issues and environmental problems in recent years have increased interest in traditional architecture which is well known for its energy saving designs. This paper presents the quantitative evaluation of traditional buildings in the coastal region of Nagappattinam during summer and winter periods with the custom-made instrument called Mini-meteorological station to understand the various solar passive elements used in the traditional buildings that provide thermal comfort. In this paper, the comparison of thermal performance during winter and summer is explained.
