摘要
Knowledge about sleep habits and associations with quality of life (QOL) and behavioral and emotional functioning in children/adolescents with cystic fibrosis (CF) is limited. Sleep quality was measured in fifty participants with CF (6–19 years) using actigraphy. Behavior and QOL outcomes were defined using Behavior Assessment System for Children and Cystic Fibrosis Questionnaire-Revised. Forty-two participants (84 %) experienced poor sleep. Lower sleep efficiency (%) was associated with higher attention (1.0 ± 0.4, p = 0.01) and hyperactivity (1.0 ± 0.4, p = 0.02) scores, and greater wake time after sleep onset minutes with worsening attitude towards teachers (0.3 ± 0.1 point/min, p = 0.03) and attention problem (0.5 ± 0.2 point/min, p = 0.007) scores. Poor sleep is common among children/adolescents with CF and is associated with worsening attention and attitude functioning.
