Magnetic properties of quasi-one-dimensional copper oxide compounds

摘要
The results from theoretical and experimental studies of the magnetic properties of quasi-one-dimensional compounds consisting of molecular chains with magnetic ions are discussed. Along with traditional systems with antiferromagnetic exchange interaction of the nearest magnetic ions in a chain, a class of recently synthesized cuprates with frustrating (competing) ferro- and antiferromagnetic interactions is considered. Attention is focused on the properties of the ground state and low-temperature thermodynamics of these cuprates, depending on the frustration parameter.
