An analytical hydraulic method for calculating the flow parameters downstream of an overfall taking into account the characteristic features of a falling jet is described. Design formulas are presented. The calculated results are compared with experimental data to validate the method proposed. © 2023, Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.
