Preparation of Ag3PO4/Bi2Zr2O7/MoS2 composite catalyst and its catalytic activity in the degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons

In this study, a dual Z-scheme heterojunction system of Ag3PO4/Bi2Zr2O7/MoS2 was constructed based on the good bandgap alignment among Bi2Zr2O7, Ag3PO4, and MoS2. The photocatalytic performance of the composite catalyst was investigated by degrading Pyrene (Pyr) and Benzo[a]pyrene (BaP). The results revealed that the composite catalyst exhibited excellent photocatalytic performance and stability, showing efficient degradation of Pyr and BaP. The research findings indicate that the presence of the dual Z-scheme heterojunction facilitates the rapid separation and transfer of photogenerated electrons and holes within the composite catalyst. This effectively preserves the photogenerated holes with high oxidative capability in valence band of Ag3PO4 and Bi2Zr2O7, thereby enhancing the catalytic activity of the catalyst.
