A new algorithm for two-dimensional tomography is suggested and investigated. In contrast to the other algorithms, in this both the projections and the two-dimensional image are filtered. Numerical simulations are performed, which show that for a small number of projections the double-filtration algorithm provides higher reconstruction quality than the filtered backprojection method, in particular, the Shepp-Logan algorithm. © 2010, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.
