Highlights the social and psychological challenges faced by patients living with missing teeth, some of which dentists may not be aware.Stresses the importance of good communication between practitioners and their patients.Illustrates how rigorous qualitative methods can be used to complement quantitative research to deepen our understanding of patients' experiences.
