Giant left ventricular pseudoaneurysm following an inferior wall myocardial infarction (MI) is a rare complication occurring in 0.1 % of cases but is associated with 50 % mortality (Hoey et al. J Emerg Med 28:431-5, 2005). It develops when the Left Ventricular (LV) free wall ruptures following a transmural Myocardial Infarction (MI) and is contained by the adherent pericardium or scar tissue. We describe the management of a patient who had suffered a recent undiagnosed inferior wall MI and then developed a giant left ventricular pseudoaneurysm. © 2013 Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgeons.
