摘要
This paper describes current trends and expected future changes regarding design, fabrication and operation of marine structures. Such structures would be needed for ocean transport, exploitation of subsea hydrocarbons and wave energy, sea food production as well as for marine infrastructure. The main purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the sea of opportunities that exists for developing new structures and operational procedures, for rational methods to handle new technology as well as the corresponding needs for research and development. © 2004, Sociedade Brasileira de Engenharia Naval.
