In this paper, we introduce the concept of a \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$$w^{*}$$\end{document}-compatible mappings to obtain coupled coincidence point and coupled common fixed points of nonlinear contractive mappings in partially ordered metric spaces. Our results generalize, extend, unify, enrich and complement various comparable results in the existing literature.
