Turbulent broadening of Laguerre-Gaussian beam in the atmosphere

摘要
Based on numerical simulation, broadening of a Laguerre-Gaussian beam propagating in a turbulent atmosphere is analyzed. Mean intensity profiles of a Laguerre-Gaussian and annular beams the initial field distributions of which differ only in the presence or absence of the vortex component of the phase are compared. It is established that the increment of the effective size of a Laguerre-Gaussian beam increases with an increase in its topological charge due to turbulence.
