摘要
A new technology and equipment have been developed for a space-saving metallurgical complex designed to efficiently produce up to 50,000–100,000 tons of wire rod a year in the form of 2.5–5.0-ton coils. The new technology is based on the centrifugal continuous casting of 6–12-mm-diam. semifinished products at a speed of 10–25 m/sec. The technology makes it possible to lower unit capital expenditures by a factor of 2.5–3.3 and reduce operating costs by 20–25%.
