Surgical treatment of anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery: Late results evaluated with dobutamine stress gated single-photon emission computed tomography sestamibi study

In the present study the importance of the gated myocardial perfusion scan in the evaluation of the surgical results has been shown. It was possible to monitor progressive improvement in myocardial perfusion immediately after surgical treatment and 1 year after operation. In addition to echocardiography and cardiac catheterization, gated myocardial perfusion scan has proved to be an excellent method in the preoperative and postoperative evaluation of anomalous origin of left coronary artery because with this procedure can determine the severity and location of myocardial ischemia and the degree of ventricular dysfunction.
