摘要
Foliar application of bio-stimulants or plant growth promoters enhances nitrogen use efficiency. VIUSID® has been known as a common growth promoter supplement and is composed of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals; and used to increase production of many crops. However, limited information is available on combined application of VIUSID® with nitrogen fertilizers in crop production. To test the hypothesis on effects of VIUSID® in combination with nitrogen levels on growth and yield of fodder maize, the experiments were conducted during Spring cropping season 2019 at Faculty of Agronomy, Vietnam National University of Agriculture. The combinations of three nitrogen application levels (N1-150 kgN ha−1, N2-120 kgN ha−1, and N3-90kgN ha−1) and two VIUSID® application doses (P0: none-VIUSID® and P1: VIUSID® application with dose of 0.9 L−1 ha−1) were treated. The interaction effects of VIUSID® spraying and nitrogen fertilizer levels on growth and yield of fodder maize showed statistically significant results at 5% probability level. The highest green matter yield (60.12ton ha−1) was obtained by the use of 0.9L VIUSID® 150 kg N ha−1 nitrogen fertilizer. Whereas N2P1 and N1P0 showed statistically similar yield. These results could provide a solid foundation for further cultivation of fodder maize under combination of VIUSID® and nitrogen application. © 2022, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Society for Plant Research.
