摘要
The solubility of Tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP) in nitric acid (0–14 M) was measured in the temperature range 25–60 °C for the purpose of understanding the distribution equilibrium of TBP between aqueous and organic phases as well as to provide input for designing a suitable contactor in order to remove the dissolved TBP from aqueous streams in the PUREX process. With increase in temperature, solubility of TBP was observed to increase and with increase in acid concentration, the solubility exhibited a minimum and had shown an increasing trend above 10 M acid. The effect of zirconium, ruthenium and uranium on the solubility of TBP in aqueous phase was also estimated.
