摘要:
The rolling elements in roller bearings can skew as they orient themselves to achieve dynamic equilibrium. In this process traction forces develop and the roller load can change, thus affecting bearing performance. This paper addresses the measurement of roller skew in a tapered roller bearing. The measurement involves the use of two contact potential difference probes. It is shown that roller skew increases with load initially and then levels off to a constant.
