Die zystische Adventitiadegeneration als Ursache einer Claudicatiosymptomatik bzw. einer Stenose der A. poplitea ist immer noch eine Rarität. In der Literatur werden v. a. Fallberichte beschrieben, die überwiegend männliche Patienten mittleren Alters betreffen, meist ohne atherogenes Risikoprofil bzw. Arteriosklerose.
