Preparation and characterization of silver nano particles

摘要
In this paper, silver nano particles have been produced by ball milling process. Particle size, lattice strain, Debye–Waller factor and root mean square amplitudes of vibration have been characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. Debye–Waller factor is found to increase with the lattice strain. From correlation between the strain and effective Debye–Waller factor, Debye–Waller factors for zero strain have been estimated for Ag. The variation of energy of vacancy formation as a function of lattice strain has been studied.
