摘要
This paper outlines a brief history of workplace violence as experienced within the industrialised world over the last thirty years. It identifies current trends, emerging issues and the controversies that have arisen during this time. The paper gives an historical context in which to examine current and emerging issues related to workplace violence. It also provides an introduction to a number of new and emerging issues raised by other contributors to this edition of the Security Journal, and points out a number of interrelationships between these various issues that may not be immediately obvious. The paper concludes by indicating emerging trends that should be addressed in future workplace violence research and management. © 2000, Palgrave Macmillan.
