Es gibt einige Publikationen zum Thema Akupunktur in der Notfallmedizin, die national und international Beachtung finden. Umfangreiche randomisierte Doppelblindstudien zum Thema existieren aber bislang nicht. Eine umfassende Ausbildung und Fertigkeit von Notärzten in Akupunktur sind wesentlich, um in der Zukunft aussagekräftige Studien durchführen zu können.
