Given a number of reasonable hypotheses, the mass and charge mean-square radii as well as the electric and magnetic form factors and magnetic moments for baryons are revisited in the light of general space wave functions. In particular, the experimental magnetic moments allow to put very drastic bounds on the quark masses as derived from usual potential models. It is shown that the experimental situation cannot be explained in the framework of such models.
