Rhynchospora depressirostris M. Strong, an overlooked species ofRhynchospora sect.Tenues Kükenthal, previously treated in the literature asR. tenuis Link, is described from Puerto Rico. An illustration and SEM images of the achene (fruit) are provided, and its relationship to closely allied and morphologically similar species is discussed.
