摘要
The presence of acid-base groups of at least four types on the surface of a hydrated aluminum oxide sol particles is disclosed by pK spectroscopy. The diversity of these groups is likely caused by their different environments. A reasonably high exchange capacity of the particle surface, which decreases upon sol aging, may result from the presence of a residual gel layer.
