摘要
While dealing with a large building stocks, one needs rapid visual screening procedures to identify buildings susceptible to earthquake damage. Relevant structural characteristic information is collected and used to determine a structural score, which should indicate if a building requires further investigation. This paper presents a procedure for rapid visual screenings for building stocks constructed in developing countries. Score sheets are prepared for three seismicity viz. low, moderate and high. Structural scores are related with damage grades I to V. The structural score <0.7 indicates high vulnerability requiring detail evaluation and retrofitting of the building.
