Dynamical evolution of two-color spatial soliton pairs in a three-level cascade atomic system

Dynamical evolution of two-color bright-bright soliton pairs and dark-dark soliton pairs in a three-level cascade atomic system are investigated. The numerical results show that bright-bright soliton pairs can propagate stably through the medium. The modulation instability will emerge for dark-dark soliton pairs. When the difference of two frequencies is smaller dark-dark soliton pairs almost can propagate stably. Two components all change instable when the difference of two frequencies is bigger. © 2013 Optical Society of India.
