Rheumatoid Arthritis may affect the auditory function and is a subject of debate. The exact etiopathogenesis is not known. However there is evidence of involvement of synovial joints of ossicles. Rheumatoid Arthritis may involve the Auditory system by producing conductive hearing loss, abnormal otoadmittance and sensorineural hearing loss. Patients with pre-existing ear diseases were not included in the study. In the present study, effect of Rheumatoid Arthritis on auditory function is observed. The study was carried out on 25 patients of classical or definite Rheumatoid Arthritis and 16 controls at M.Y. Hospital, Indore.
