摘要
Field surveys and interviews in the native languages were conducted during 2010 in 17 villages located in the mountainous region of Gorno-Badakhshan, Tajikistan. When local village leaders were considered able and were trusted by the community, the village organization devised and carried out development projects with training and some funding from representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation. Photographic evidence showed the positive effects of collective action on the material well-being of villagers. © 2016 Society for International Development.
