摘要
Depression is common during pregnancy and the postpartum period and may require pharmacotherapy. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) appear to be the safest choice if pharmacotherapy is required, but are not without adverse effects on the infant both during pregnancy and lactation. While congenital malformations seem to be absent with treatment with most SSRIs, adverse events may occur in neonates exposed to SSRIs during the third trimester. There is little evidence that exposure to SSRIs in utero may have a negative impact on neurodevelopment outcomes in infants. © 2006 Adis Data Information BV. All rights reserved.
