We consider the noise immunity of the compression procedure for a narrow-band signal [1]. The noise immunity is understood as the ratio of the maximum amplitude of the compressed signal to the noise intensity. It is shown that in the case where a narrow-band signal is compressed, this ratio increases if noise is a reverberation interference, remains unchanged if noise is fed to the wide-band input channel of a radar, and decreases if the radar input channel is narrow-band. Results of the calculations and numerical simulations are presented. © 2001 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
