Research on gas diffusion of natural gas leakage based on Gaussian plume model

Once a natural gas pipeline leaks, it will not only cause waste of resources and environmental pollution but also cause huge casualties and property losses in severe cases. Therefore, research on the diffusion mechanism of natural gas leakage and diffusion can help to take timely countermeasures to reduce the impact of accidents. Based on the study of gas diffusion mechanism and Gauss plume model in the process of natural gas leakage, the parameters influencing the gas diffusion are summarized, and the influence of various factors on the gas diffusion is studied by using the Phast software. The results show that: with the increase of pipeline pressure, the diffusion distance of leakage gas in all directions increases significantly; with the increase of wind speed, the diffusion distance from downwind increases significantly, and the vertical and upwind diffusion distance of natural gas decreases rapidly; with the increase of temperature, the diffusion distance of natural gas in all directions decreases slightly; with the increase of atmospheric stability, it can promote the diffusion of natural gas in a certain range. Beyond this range, it will inhibit the diffusion of natural gas. The research results are of great significance to the study of influencing factors of natural gas diffusion.
