A new species of Euphorbiaceae, Euphorbia vasudevaraoi from Ballari district of Karnataka state, India, is described and illustrated. It belongs to the genus Euphorbia L. sect. Hypercifoliae. The new species resembles E. kadapensis Sarojin. & R.R.V.Raju by the sympodial shoots, oblong leaves, variously dissected limb of the involucral glands and quadrangular seeds, but differs by the presence of axillary glands, laciniate stipules, deeply 2 – 4-fid limb of gland and the absence of sutures along the ridges of the capsule. A key to the related species of Euphorbia in India is provided.
