摘要
Switched reluctance motor (SRM) is remarkably simple in configuration, having core laminations and windings only on its stator, which leads to various advantages such as high robustness. Radial force is known to be the origin of vibration, and it is severe in SRM due to its doubly salient structure. In this paper, a novel design of rotor which has partial inner holes to reduce radial force is proposed. For each rotor pole, a couple of holes along the axial direction is positioned as such to disturb the flux going straight from one stator pole to the one right across it. Simulations were performed to find the optimum location for the holes and the motor was manufactured to verify the proposed idea. Experiments were done and the results of the rotor with and without holes were compared. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed structure.
