摘要
Ferumoxytol, a high-molecular-weight carbohydrate-iron complex, is indicated for the intravenous treatment of iron deficiency anaemia in adults with chronic kidney disease. In this population, a repletion course of intravenous ferumoxytol is significantly more effective than a short course of oral iron in increasing haemoglobin levels and improving most other iron indices, irrespective of whether patients are on haemodialysis or not on dialysis, and is generally well tolerated. © 2013 Springer International Publishing Switzerland.
