摘要
A facile and benign biosynthesis method for the production of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using dry Ocimum gratissimum (DOG) aqueous extracts for the reduction of silver ion to silver nanoparticle has been emplaced in this work. Various characterization techniques were used to analyze DOG-AgNPs. The XRD confirmed the crystallinity of the samples. The absorption of the sample was observed using UV-vis within the visible range. The SEM and the TEM confirmed the spherical grain of the samples. Agar well diffusion method (AWDM) was used to analyze the antibacterial and antifungal activities of the samples against some pathogenic strains with enhanced activities. The susceptibility of DOG-AgNPs against the pathogenic strains shows that the synthesized DOG-AgNPs is auspicious for antibacterial and antifungal therapeutic application in nanomedicine chiefly as wound healing and food storage.
