The bit in a coal plow is a key factor in achieving high-efficiency cutting, and the dynamic load on the bit has an important influence on the stress, strain, and fatigue damage of the plow. By analyzing the load, dynamic stress, and fatigue life of the plow bit, the reliability of the plow bit can be evaluated. In this paper, a software system was developed for coal plow designs and calculations using MATLAB and Visual Basic software based on the plow force model. The BH38/2 × 400-type coal plow was taken as the research object, the random load on the plow bit was calculated according to the coal sample properties, and the accuracy of the load was verified by a cutting test. The dynamic stress and deformation distribution of the plow bit during the cutting process were obtained by dynamic simulations. The stress and fatigue life of the plow bit was predicted by counting the rain flow of the stress information. The study results show that the proposed method can be used to analyze the dynamic stress and fatigue life of plow bits, providing important reference value for the engineering application of coal plows.
