摘要
Planar and wavy interface reliefs of copper–tantalum joints made via explosive welding are investigated. A set of typical interface structures that replace one another as the welding regime intensifies is revealed. An unusual shape of asperities on a planar interface is observed near the low boundary of weldability. They resemble the splashes that occur on a liquid surface. It is found that the interface becomes quasi-wave-like and inhomogeneous somewhere above the low boundary of weldability. © 2015, Allerton Press, Inc.
