摘要
Bark samples of Pterocarpus Santalinus medicinal plant (MP) used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus were analyzed for their elemental content (EC) using analytical techniques PIXE and ICP-MS. The regional change in EC of this plant has also been investigated by collecting the bark samples belonging to four different regions. The obtained data on EC was subjected to chemometric analysis technique: principal component analysis (PCA) so as to understand the association between the elements which potentiate insulin action. The results of PCA technique revealed three significant groups of elements in Pterocarpus Santalinus MP.
