Accumulating evidence indicates that aminophylline [theophylline2 · ethylenediamine] markedly attenuates the anticonvulsant action of conventional antiepileptic drugs in experimental animal models of epilepsy and evokes severe seizure activity in patients treated with this methylxanthine.
